The common winter damselfly (Sympecma fusca) is one of two winter damselfly species that can survive the winter as adults. During this time it usually sits on vertical dry plant stems. In this position it can be snowed in or covered in hoar frost on cold nights and freeze completely without being damaged / Die Gemeine Winterlibelle (Sympecma fusca) ist eine von zwei Winterlibellenarten, die den Winter als Adulte überleben können. Sie sitzt während dieser Zeit meist an senkrechten trockenen Pflanzenstengeln. Hello! This is not really hibernation. I have already observed how a winter damselfly froze after a very cold night and then thawed in the sun the next day and flew around.
